The ideal candidate will direct and coordinate activities of the engineering department, develop cost effective production improvements, provide engineering support to the production operation, and prepare for new model starts. This position will directly supervise salaried Manufacturing Engineers and Engineering Technicians.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyzes, evaluates and presents information concerning factors such as production capabilities, manufacturing problems, and development of new products for consideration by other members of the management team.
  • Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving problems.
  • Cooperates with other management personnel in formulating company policies, operating procedures and goals.
  • Develops initial and subsequent modifications of Engineering programs to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements and operational procedures within the program.
  • Evaluates contents of reports from Engineering department and confers with management personnel.
  • Conducts management meetings with Engineering department to establish, delineate and review program organizational policies, to coordinate functions and operations between departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
  • Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
  • Confers with engineers about quality assurance of products to rectify problems.
  • Reviews technical publications, articles and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry.
  • Oversees and coordinates daily Morning Market Meeting with all engineers, production team, and maintenance. Follows-up to ensure that all issues are resolved on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for the Supplies, Repairs and Tooling costs as related to the manufacturing processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 10-15 years of manufacturing experience


  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.


  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.


  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
