SUMMARY

The ideal candidate will Plan, direct and coordinate the manufacture of components on time and in accordance with quality standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Responsible for the continual improvement of
manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Plans, directs and coordinates production activities and establishes cost effective production priorities to meet customer
    demand and quality requirements. Determine which machines will be used, whether overtime or extra shifts are
    necessary and what the order of production should be.
  • Confer with management and departments to establish production and quality control standards. Develop budget and cost controls, obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Develops and implements standardized work designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine
    manufacturing processes, tools, and manpower requirements.
  • Directs and approves designs and modifications in the production operations.
  • Prepares and reviews production reports and data.
  • Monitor the production process to the plan and correct any problems that may arise.
  • Determines how to make the production process more efficient through lean production techniques, Kaizen.
  • Monitor quality of product to ensure quality standards are met. Implement improvements to address deficiencies.
  • Ensure that company policies and goals are met.
  • Maintain and provide a safe work area and work in a safe manner.
  • Submit suggestions for improvements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES – Directly supervises Production Managers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning,and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and six to eight years related experience and/or training;
    or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

AUTHORITY LEVEL

  • The employee has authority in the following areas: purchasing up to $500.00
  • Shutdown of any equipment for safety and reliability issues
  • Evacuate plant in emergency situations.
